Not at all! We offer lessons for all levels—from complete beginners to intermediate surfers looking to improve their technique.
Each lesson typically lasts around 2 hours, including a short land-based introduction, warm-up, and water time.
All lessons include a surfboard, rash guard, a professional instruction and video analysis. You can add surfboard insurance for the rental board if wished.
We keep group sizes small—usually 2 students per instructor—to ensure personalized attention and safety.
If you are a bigger group we will have more instructors to make sure you get the time in the water you want.
Just bring swimwear, sunscreen, a towel, and a smile! If needed bring also a water bottle or you can buy food and drinks at the beach. We provide everything else.
Our instructors choose the best spot for your skill level and the current conditions. We prioritize safety, fun, and wave quality.
Nevertheless you can tell us your dream spot and we will check if your skill level and conditions make it possible.
Yes! We offer special surf lessons for children (usually ages 7 and up). We recommed to book private lesson do to be able to provide extra safety and guidance especially if your kid is new to surfing.
Safety is our top priority. If conditions are unsafe or unsuitable, we’ll reschedule your lesson for another day.
We have a wide range of soft-top and hard-top boards suitable for beginners and intermediates. Our instructors will help you choose the right one for your level and goals.
You should be comfortable in the water and able to swim, but you don’t need to be an advanced swimmer. We always surf in safe conditions and shallow waters for beginners.
Yes! We offer private 1-on-1 lessons, which are perfect for faster progress, special coaching, or more flexibility with time and location.

Stay updated about our daily group lessons by joining our WhatsApp group. We usually schedule lessons one day in advance, and lessons take place once at least two participants have signed up.
Absolutely. We offer 3-day, 5-day, and weekly surf packages at a discounted rate. These are perfect if you’re staying longer and want consistent progress.
All our surf instructors speak English and Bahasa Indonesia.
We also have in our team German speakers which help us with any questions, but are not surf instructors.

Please note: For our Mentawai retreats, we only accept participants who already have prior surfing experience, as the waves and conditions there are more advanced.

Yes, we require all participants to have valid travel insurance that covers adventure activities like surfing.
Absolutely! Many of our guests come solo. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people and connect over shared experiences.
We partner with hand-picked local lodges, or surf hostels—clean, comfortable, and close to the beach. Shared and private room options are usually available.
Depending on the Location our Retreats range from 7-days to 10-days.

We typically offer gentle Vinyasa or Hatha yoga sessions focused on flexibility, balance, and recovery—perfect complements to surfing.
No, flights are not included. However, we do offer airport pickup once you arrive at the airport specified in the details of each retreat.
Our retreats are designed for adults (18+), but we do consider younger guests on a case-by-case basis if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
You can book directly through our website, or contact us via email or WhatsApp. A deposit is required to reserve your place.
While we aim for the best surf conditions, nature can be unpredictable. In poor surf conditions, we offer alternative activities like yoga, excursions, surf theory or game days.
Cancellations made 30 days or more before the retreat are eligible for a refund (minus a deposit). Within 30 days, we may offer credit toward a future retreat. Please refer to our full cancellation policy on the booking page.
Your surfboards are travelling with you. Depending on the location we will either pick you up at the airport and drive directly to the accommodation or we will have longer travel days where we also will go by ferry and boat, whereby the transportation of the boards is included.
Mentawais:
– First stop is Padang where we will pick you up at the Airport and will drive to our hostel for one night.
– The next day we will take the ferry in the morning from Padang to Siberut (between 3 – 6 hours), so prepare for another day of travel
– Arriving in Siberut we will be picked up by the smaller boat from our host and will be taken to the final destination
Batukaras:
– We will pick you up at Yogyakarta International Airport and drive from there to Batukaras. The drive takes around 4 – 5 hours.
